Military Projects in Okinawa
Nishimatsu has established
a Military Programs and Project Offices in Okinawa and Misawa. In Okinawa, the office of some 14 personnel is responsible
for work under Phase V and VI of improvements to Military Family
Housing at Kadena Air Base, Camp Courtney and Camp Foster. While Phase V was completed, young
Nishimatsu personnel on Phase VI are working and training under
condition that make these military projects seem like
“international
operations in Japan".
Nishimatsu initiated its first US military projects bids in 2005. Winning its first award under
Phase V of improve US Military Housing projects at Kadena, Nishimatsu concluded a ¥2.35 billion contract within
one year 7 months, covering 33 buildings (132 homes). The project was completed safely in November
of 2006.
Nishimatsu was grateful to then hear
we were awarded Phase VI. The scope of Phase VI is about
four times larger than Phase V, and Nishimatsu works from four
to six sites at any time during the four year term of this
project.
In 2009, Nishimatsu secure further two projects from US Military in Japan. The Data Center project at White Beach Base is located in Okinawa too, but the owner is US Navy. Two story building is scheduled to complete on September 2010. Other newly awarded project is improvements to Military Family Housing at Misawa Air Base which located in Aomori the northern end of main Japanese Island Honshu. The scope and size of this project is similar to the Phase 6 of Kadena Air Base.
